This post is celebrating the release date for Atlantis Quest (Atlantis Rising #2.) So here’s the synopsis for Atlantis Quest!
“Get ready for the exciting follow up to Atlantis Rising, dubbedAn enchanting debut from a promising new author of paranormal YAby Kirkus Reviews.
After all they’d cost me, I thought I was done with the Truss clan. I was wrong. Nikki Dawning, my mortal enemy, has been kidnapped, and I’ve been asked to spy on the Truss to find her. The pull between Ian and I has never been stronger, but he can’t help me this time. I have to rely on Theron, a bad-tempered cousin I didn’t know I had. To make matters worse, the people I trust have been keeping secrets.
I’m starting to feel like a weapon in a war I don’t understand. How far am I willing to go to protect the descendants of Atlantis and the common good when I’m not sure what the common good is anymore?
Only one thing is certain. If I’m the next Laurel clan chief, I can’t let myself be manipulated…by anyone.”

You’ll never see me unless I want you to…
I am different. I have always been different, but no one can know or my life will be in danger. So I hide in plain sight, wearing drab clothes and thick glasses and trying to be invisible. I’m so good at hiding, no one has ever noticed me. Until Ian…the mysterious and oh-so-cute boy I know I need to avoid.
Now I have been seen. And more terrifying still, I am wanted—by those who would protect me and those who would destroy everything and everyone I love. But if they’re all terrified about who I am, wait until they see what I can do…

This post is going to be a little on the fly, because this week has been full of colossal screw-ups on my part. Good news is, there’s still a huge giveaway to enter!
Here’s the cute, tiny excerpt for Atlantis Quest:
“I stopped talking because Ian had stepped in front of me and slid his hand behind my neck. I knew what he was going to do. I also knew I should turn away, but I didn’t. I let him move closer, I didn’t look away when his eyes lingered on my lips, and I didn’t tell him to stop when his lips touched mine. Instead, I moved even nearer until there was no space between us. I reached up and ran my fingers through the golden-blond hair that curled up at his shirt collar.”
Aww, I can’t wait to read this! (Well, after I read Atlantis Rising, which I was supposed to do this week.)
And here’s a small teaser that made me grin:
Speaking of Atlantis Quest, here’s the full cover, in all it’s blue/green glowing glory.
Yay for stars on covers!! Atlantis was one of my obsessions as a child. For the longest time, I wanted to be an archaeologist in Egypt. I dreamed about it all the time. Or in South America, or in Israel. It was a long time before I faced the facts and realized that my health would never be stable enough to go overseas on digs.
You know, lungs with cystic fibrosis don’t like being around hundreds/thousands of years old mold spores and whatnot.
My first email address was actually firstname.lastname@example.org. I even had my own Atlantis theory.
Another reason Atlantis was important to me, was the Disney movie. To this day, I still think it’s one of the most underrated Disney movies EVER (right up there with Treasure Planet.) My favorite character?
Well, Milo. Duh. Also, Kida…But my favorite supporting character is Vinny. He’s HILARIOUS. His voice, his humor, his line delivery are all perfect. He was a florist, and then became an explosives expert.
My dad surprised me when I was in the hospital and got the VHS. I had been playing this handheld video game (it was Disney trivia, the game was shaped like Mickey Mouse’s head.) I sat and watched it over and over and over again.
Being in the hospital, over the decades, my dad has brought me movies every time. We sit together in my hospital bed and watch the movies together until I fall asleep.
to this day, they are my most treasured memories. Just falling asleep next to my dad, watching cool movies. Lulled to sleep by low dialogue and movie scores. The background filled with IV machines whirring and beeping. Sneakers squeaking on the tile outside my room.
I could fall asleep just talking about it right now.
The movie get’s even better as you get older. The history jokes are HILARIOUS. It has non-history related humor too. Not to mention, it boasts one of the prettiest love stories ever. Here are a few gifs from my favorite scenes
Milo and Kida are one of my OTP’s. For real. I’m definitely looking forward to read this ‘retelling’ of sorts. I know it’s not a retelling, but it’s Atlantis, so hey, close enough for me!
